Argonne National Laboratory and Integrated Fuel Technologies have developed an in-line DeNOx Catalytic Converter for diesel engines. This HC-SCR DeNOx system uses onboard diesel fuel as a reducing agent to convert NOx to inert N2 and O2 gases. Laboratory tests have shown that under normal operating temperatures and engine loading, this “After-Treatment System” removes more than 95% of NOx, Particulate Matter (PM), and CO from diesel engine exhaust. By combining the innovative fuel-saving technologies of IFT with Argonne’s deNOx formulation, substantial NOx reduction can be achieved without adversely affecting other performance-enhancing or emissions reduction technologies. Diverse companies and major OEM manufacturers
have expressed interest in this breakthrough technology for all industries. With the Tier IV EPA emission requirements phasing in for all industries over the next few years, this technology is timely and unsurpassed in performance and quality.
